The Entrepreneurs Networking Hub at Inospace Powder Mill has officially opened, creating a vibrant space for entrepreneurs to connect, collaborate, and grow. A joint initiative between Inospace and the Entrepreneurs’ Network (EN), the hub is designed to support small businesses by fostering innovation and providing opportunities to thrive.
At the launch event, Jodi Sher, Chief Marketing & Product Officer at Inospace, welcomed guests and highlighted how, for Inospace, they “don’t just see walls and spaces; [they] see potential.” She explained that the hub is more than just a physical space—it is a place “where ideas are born, connections are made, and dreams are realised."
Championing entrepreneurs: a shared vision
Jodi further reflected on this partnership, noting that it is "built on a shared commitment to uplifting, connecting, and empowering entrepreneurs.” She emphasised that these dynamic small businesses are “what fuel our economy and help us all move forward, one small business at a time." This synergy between Inospace’s ability to create thriving environments and EN’s drive to foster collaboration makes the hub a valuable asset to the entrepreneurial community.
A commitment to empowering entrepreneurs
One of the key moments during the event was the keynote speech by Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth for the City of Cape Town.
Vos emphasised how crucial partnerships like this are in driving the local economy forward. He noted that the City’s programmes, including the Business Hub and Jobs Connect, “are designed to support entrepreneurs, provide resources, and connect job seekers with opportunities." He further explained that hubs like this one underscore the City’s commitment to making entrepreneurship the driving force behind job creation and investment.
Inospace’s role in fostering a new generation of industrialists
The significance of the evening extended beyond the event itself. Rael Levitt, CEO of Inospace, expressed his passion for the role of small businesses in driving South Africa’s economy. He emphasised that "The Entrepreneurs' Network Hub at Inospace is a vital initiative to support new industrialists in South Africa."
Levitt explained how the country is “filled with talented and driven people who need to be given solutions to create businesses that will expand the economy and improve lives.” He reiterated that Inospace is fully committed to fostering a new generation of industrialists and entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurs’ Network: fostering growth and collaboration
Dawn Nathan-Jones, a member of EN and moderator of the evening’s panel discussion, highlighted the importance of this collaboration. She stated that “It’s not just about providing space—it’s about creating an ecosystem where small businesses can learn, innovate, and scale.” Together, she noted, they are “shaping a future of meaningful impact and sustainable growth."
Since its inception, EN has facilitated over R14 million in new business, created new jobs, and provided countless hours of training and mentorship.
Insights from industry leaders
The evening’s panel, which included industry leaders such as Paul Raphaely (Nomu), Sindile Mavundla (Rook Cycles), and Matthew Leppan (Takealot), offered practical advice and inspiring stories of how they’ve scaled their businesses. Raphaely discussed how his company has built a strong brand presence through innovative marketing, connecting deeply with both B2B and B2C markets. Mavundla shared his passion for promoting sustainable transport and the role Rook Cycles plays in fostering a cycling culture in South Africa, rooted in community engagement. Leppan gave insights into the power of e-commerce and how leveraging online platforms and building solid business relationships have been key to Takealot’s success.
The panellists left the audience with a clear message: accessing new markets requires resilience, creativity, and the support of a strong network.
A space to create, innovate, and scale
After an evening filled with inspiring insights from entrepreneurial leaders, Rael Levitt rounded off the event by reflecting on the significance of the hub’s launch. He explained that the hub will be “a free space for EN members to meet, pitch ideas, and grow their businesses."
He proudly noted that "Hundreds of small companies have succeeded within our communities, and we’re proud to have built an environment where entrepreneurship can flourish."
